Second Wind Country Inn was a lifetime dream of Mark and Kelly Illick. In 2003 we broke ground on Kelly’s grandparents farmland, five family generations have lived on this land. Our four unique suites at the main inn and two housekeeping suites at the homestead give you a choice in atmosphere and décor. While our sprawling property offers a bountiful feast for the senses. We offer guests the perfect setting to kick back, relax and recharge their batteries.

We stand apart from other bed and breakfasts in Ashland, WI by offering our guests a complete range of accommodations! Not only are our rooms and suites fully-furnished and thoroughly cleaned, we bring you conveniences like free Wi-Fi, a fully-stocked library, plenty of board games and more. Spend your days lazing away on the front porch swings, chatting with other guests or enjoying solitude. Or, trek around our 40 acres of property, where viewing our miniature donkeys, blowing kisses to our Belgian Draft Horses, all while taking in sunsets and the crisp country air. Here at Second Wind we offer six unique suites to choose from! The four suites located at the main inn, The Bear Den, Pine Cone Hollow, Lumberjack Loft and Northern Lights Loft include a full country breakfasts served in the dinning area. Our weekday breakfast Monday-Friday, includes a leisure self-serve-European style breakfast in The Gathering Room.
Reservations made in Little Scandinavia and Whimsy, at The Homestead (our guest house), do not include breakfast. Both of these suites have a well equipped full kitchen for you to enjoy.
There are plenty of places to relax and unwind, indoors and out! Inside, enjoy our north woods ambiance, wi-fi, board games and books galore. Outside, lazy away time on the front porch swings, enjoy beautiful sunsets, visit our miniature donkeys, blow kisses to our Belgian draft horses, play bocce on the front lawn, enjoy an evening campfire all on our 40 country acres.
